Jessica
Jessica graduated with high honors from Onondaga School of Massage in 2004, and is New York State licensed and registered. She is also a Member of the American Bodyworks and Massage Association. She has continued her education to further her skills as a therapist, by traveling to St. Petersburg, Florida, to attend classes in advanced methods of Reflexology, and has attended many continuing education classes for developing skills as a therapist.

My training has enabled me to be able to provide for my clients many different services in massage, from relaxation to therapeutic. I have also had advanced training in many spa treatments including Hot Stone, Wraps, Scrubs, and Aromatherapy.

I've always been drawn to a lifestyle of helping others. Every person is unique. Because of that, every massage session is unique. Maryann
Maryann has been experienced in the beauty industry for over 30 years and has practiced the art of cosmetology in two different countries. She has taken many continuing education classes in cutting and coloring, and had advanced training in Toronto with John Yukarrihis, the president of the Toronto Guild. Bob
Bob has been trained by the International Center for Reiki Training to provide Usui Reiki Treatments. He initially received his Reiki 1 and 2 training from a Master in St. Petersburg, Fl. In April of 2009, Bob received his Master training from William Lee Rand, Director of the International Center for Reiki Training. Bob can now provide Reiki sessions as well as teach Reiki.

Reiki is a touch therapy (also known as "laying on of hands") where the practitioner's hands are placed near or lightly touch the client's body in various static positions for several minutes each. The Reiki healing energy directs itself. It flows wherever the person most needs its healing energy allowing the body to heal itself. Bob does not direct the energy but lets it flow through his hands to the client.

During the treatment, the client is usually lying down fully clothed. A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. The client may experience one or more of the following sensations during a treatment: heat/warmth, electricity, tingling, weightlessness, serenity, or giddiness.

Bre is one of the newest members of the team at Spa on the River. She graduated from the OCM BOCES Cosmetology program in August 2010. She brings with her new styles and color techniques learned from top Goldwell professionals. She attended the International Beauty Show held in New York City in the Spring of 2010 where she became familiar with products, tools, and updated styles within the industry. Although nail art is one of her strongest points, she is confident and meticlous in all services she provides here at Spa on the River. Bre specializes in a variety of appearance enhancing services such as precision haircuts, hair-color, whether it be full-color services, or highlighting/lowlighting to bring your look up-to-date, and waxing. She is also a nail technician providing top-notch manicures and pedicures to get the "Whole Package" look!

Natalie Redmore
Natalie is one of Spa on the River's guest coordinators. She is one of the persons' you will most likely speak with when booking your spa reservations. Natalie is very cordial, informative, and helpful with any questions you may have when booking your relaxation, hair, nail, Wedding, birthday, bachelorette, birthday or any special occasion party you would like to have at Spa on the River. Taryn Laffin
Taryn is a graduate of OCM BOCES Cosmetology Program. Manicuring and Pedicuring is what Taryn loves to do and is very creative when it comes to doing nail art. The art of doing nails isn't only experience. Taryn loves to do coloring and highlighting hair is another aspect she enjoys. She has experience in Goldwell and Surface in her BOCES program. She is very excited to become a new member of the team at Spa on the River.

Judith A. Santimaw - Owner
Judith Santimaw's background in the relaxation and beauty industry is extensive and varied. Starting in 1990 Judy traveled to Beverly Hills, California where she attended the Aesthetics West Expo / Conference. She was photographed at an advanced education class and was featured in 'Dermascope' Magazine. On later visits to California, Judy earned a speed-waxing certificate in San Francisco and experienced the fabulous spa services in Calistoga, one of the premier hot springs spa regions in the country, where she learned new spa techniques to bring home to her clients in Central New York.

However, Judy's travels in search of superior salon and spa services aren't restricted only to the United States. Judy has journeyed throughout the world, frequenting hundreds of salons and spas internationally to see firsthand their delivery of these important services and to incorporate the best of them for her own clients. Some of her destinations have included Canada, England, Germany, France, Holland, Rome, Milan, Italy, Tokyo, Japan, and Singapore. She obtained European Hairstyling techniques in Paris, France and immersed herself in the acclaimed spa services offered at the Chateau Bromont in spa unique Quebec, Canada. Gathering knowledge from every country she visits, Judy's goal is to bring home fresh and different ideas and techniques to share with her staff - and of course to indulge Spa on the River clients!

In October 1998 Judy earned a status inclusion award plaque for her salon in 'Basic Associate National Curriculum Trade Association for Responsible Tanning' in Chicago, Illinois.

The year 2000 marked a professional milestone for Judy, when she traveled to South America to compete in the Supernatural Salon & Spa Millennium Competition. Judy chose her model, Mekelia, who is from Romania, to represent her work. There Judy competed against professionals from Italy, Germany, France, Canada, USA, and South America. She returned home to Baldwinsville with three awards: Excellence in Nails, 2nd Place in Make Up Artistry, and 1st runner up for 'Total Look.'

In addition to her speed waxing certification, Judy has also earned professional degrees in Nail Specialty and Cosmetology from Phillips Hairstyling Institute in Syracuse, New York. Because of her excellence in the profession, Judy has subsequently been invited as a guest speaker to the institute, to encourage those pursuing their careers in Nail Specialty. Helping others to understand the industry and preparing them for what lies ahead in the highly competitive spa and salon field is one of the ways Judy enjoys giving of her time and talents. The depth of her industry knowledge has made Judy a natural choice as guest speaker for Baker High School Business classes as well, and she always tries to accomodate such requests.

Along with her speaking engagements, Judy shares her expertise by mentoring Nail Specialty & Cosmetology students for the Onondaga County B.O.C.E.S. Thompson Road in Syracuse, New York including Auburn, and Binghamton. She volunteered her time to demonstrate to the students her skills and also judged nail and hair competitions among the students and shared in the presentation of announcing the winners and presenting the trophies to the students who placed in the competition. In addition, Judy has attended several advanced education with Goldwell Trendzoom, Paul Mitchell, Lanza, Creative Nail Design. She traveled to SoHo, Manhattan, in NYC to Oscar Bond's Spa & Salon, to attend hands on precision haircutting seminar. Attending demonstrations of west coast hair cutting and styling techniques with Kiera Bailey from Jonathan's Salon on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. Keira stars on Bravo's television hit show 'Blowout.' Judy also has apprenticed many European hair, skin and nail seminars too numerous to mention. Cosmetology Instructors feel free to phone Judy to host their students to shadow at Spa on the River.

More recently Judy closed her spa to host a chartered busload of B.O.C.E.S. Cosmetology students, instructors and chaperons as guests to vist the spa facilities. The students traveled from Binghamton, New York to ask questions one on one privately to her staff to prep them for life in the professional spa industry.

Although working with prospective spa and salon professionals is important to Judy, her Spa on the River clients remain her number one priority. In an effort to continually provide progressive services, Judy recently teamed with Dr. Douglas W. Halliday Ph.D., M.D. a board certified ENT, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. She approached the doctor several years ago with the intent to give the guests of Spa on the River access to a respectable cosmetic surgeon for injectable fillers. Dr. Halliday and his guests, apprising them of what is available today in the medical field to turn back the hands of time. Judy likes to call these gatherings 'Botox Parties.' She makes it possible for any spa guest to receive $100.00 off the regular price of the procedures, thanks to the agreements she has negotiated with Dr. Halliday. Dr. Halliday brings his professional team and the procedures take place right at the spa. Dr. Halliday has also introduced Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, as well as Botox to these spa parties. Come and have a listen as you sip on wine and snack on cheese and crackers and sweet treats.

Dr. Halliday is also chair of the Vera House, and Judy and her team has joined him in volunteering her time and assistance in raising money to stop domestic violence against women. The spa is now selling white wristbands for one dollar and white lapel pins for five dollars at the spa. One hundred percent of the sales of there items go directly to the Vera House.

Judy ensures the support of the community that supports her spa in many ways. Gift baskets for and to support benefits for just causes are very important to her and she does not turn away from those who have suffered unfortunate life experiences. Steven Neumaier from L'ANZA Distributor/Goldwell of New York nominated Spa on the River for the prestigious Salon Entrepreneur of the Year Award as part of the 2008 Global Salon Business Awards. The Global Salon Business Awards were held on June 7th-9th in Hollywood, California. Judy was also considered nominee to the Cambridge Who's Who as a part of our country's most accomplished women's section for 2007-2008. It will be called 'Cambridge Who's Who among executive and professional Women Honors Edition.'

Certification of Hands On with Amedeo DeRango. Most recently, Spa on the River was voted by Y94FM Radio listeners as winner of 2010 Best of the Burbs Award for "Best Hair Salon" category. Spa on the River was also recognized by the National Small Business Association - Best of Business Award Program!
